The lucky drivers who manage to get their mitts on one of these rare editions will be driving a piece of our history. Because meeting John Cooper was a milestone moment for us. The Formula One legend, who’d made his name in the industry for his innovative vision, had spotted something in our humble city car that no one else had. Racing potential. Our alliance turned the Mini, against all odds, into a champion racer. But it didn’t stop there. Our partnership continues today with a range of fearsome John Cooper Works models.

The MINI John Cooper Works Anniversary Edition is strictly limited to just 740 models worldwide. It’s our little nod to John’s car number – 74. And if you’re eagle-eyed, you might’ve spotted that’s not the only reference to John Cooper. This Rebel Green MINI also sports ‘74’ stickers on its doors and bonnet, along with contrasting racing stripes, red accents and a classic Cooper company logo.
Put simply? This car is something very special.

As well as the racing cues and historical details seen on this edition’s exterior, there’s a selection of thoughtful touches found inside too. The signatures of three generations of Coopers can be spotted along the dash, along with a handwritten note of “1 of 740”. Cast a glance down and you’ll see a rather special inscription on the door sill which reads: “60 YEARS OF MINI COOPER – THE UNEXPECTED UNDERDOG”.

It may call back to the ‘60s, but this MINI is 2021 through-and-through. It’s bursting with innovative tech, including an 8.8” digital display, the Navigation Plus Pack, Apple Car Play, Head Up Display, Bluetooth® wireless technology and driver assistance features but to name a few.
