ENGINE OF THE YEAR AWARD 2010 FOR MINI.

Laurels again in the world’s most important engine contest! With its powerful 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine with twin-scroll turbochargers, the MINI Cooper S confidently took the honours at the "International Engine of the Year Award" 2010.

BENCHMARK IN ITS DISPLACEMENT CLASS – AT THE TOP SINCE 2007.

Bravo MINI Cooper S! "The latest generation of engines sees fascinating power build-up combining with contemporary efficiency." That was the verdict of the international jury of prominent automotive journalists. The award-winning four-cylinder engineer runs with 135 kW/184 hp at 5,500 rpm. And in the range between 1,600 and 5,000 rpm it mobilises a maximum torque of 260 newton metres with Overboost function. In short: It delivers maximum thrust even at very low revs. And manages this with a minimal fuel consumption of 5.8 l/100 km.
