THE FACTS.

WHAT YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW.

The MINI Cooper Coupé is an athlete that cuts a sporting figure.
Its extrovertly shaped body with sharply sloping A-pillar, roof dipping far down to the rear and distinctive tail end with extendable spoiler not only turn it into an eye-catcher but also considerable improve its aerodynamics.

The right amount of thrust comes from the powerful engine with an output of 90 kW (122 hp) @ 6,000 rpm. As the accelerator descends, the speedo needle makes its way steadily to the right until it reaches the top mark of 204 [198] km/h.

To ensure that the Coupé stays fully agile even at such high speeds, torsion reinforcements have been incorporated into the bulkhead behind the front seats. They stiffen the body and reduce the load on the driver.

For all the sporty performance of the two-seater’s engine, the interior is remarkably comfortable and geared up to everyday use. The seating position ensures that even tall occupants can travel in comfort over long distances. The boot also displays its generous side, with 280 litres of space. Ideal for spontaneous excursions or a weekend shopping trip.

TECHNICAL INFO.

ALL THE DATA & FACTS.

Sporting values:
The MINI Cooper Coupé achieves an impressive set of figures. Despite its stunning performance, it never uses more fuel than absolutely necessary. Even filling up the tank can be part of the fun of driving.

It shows plenty of muscle in every rpm range. That permits an effortless driving style with minimal gear-changing work. And that’s true when overtaking too, because the MINI Cooper Coupé simply has plenty of power whatever the speed is. Just as the driver would expect of a true sports car.

The two-seater is also a model pupil in terms of CO2 emissions: its figures of 127 [150] g/km set accents in the sports car category.

COMMENT
Further information on the official fuel consumption and on the official specific CO2 emissions of new automobiles can be found in the guidelines on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of new automobiles which are available free of charge at all retail outlets and from DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern, Germany.

All MINI engines meet the EU5 emissions standard. Fuel consumption is determined in accordance with the ECE driving cycle (93/116/EC) made up of approximately one third urban traffic and two thirds extra-urban driving (based on the distance covered). CO2 emissions are measured in addition to fuel consumption as such. Fuel consumption levels are calculated on the basis of vehicles with standard equipment. Special equipment (e.g. wider tyres) can have a significant impact on fuel consumption levels.

MINI recommends the use of super unleaded 95 RON fuel. Unleaded RON 91 fuel or higher with a maximum ethanol limit of 10 per cent (E10) is also permitted. The performance and fuel consumption rates listed are based on the use of RON 98 fuel.

The figures quoted include a 90 per cent tank filling, 68 kg for the driver and 7 kg for luggage. Unladen weight applies to vehicles with standard equipment. Optional equipment may increase this figure.

All figures relate to vehicles with standard six-speed manual transmission. Figures in [ ] are for vehicles with six-speed automatic transmission Steptronic.

DIMENSIONS.

MINI FAR AND WIDE.

Wide track, long wheelbase, short overhangs, low centre of gravity and “a wheel in each corner”. The MINI Cooper Coupé is a born athlete with excellent roadholding and is just perfect for negotiating narrow streets.

ABUNDANT SPACE.

SURPRISINGLY STRONG ON INNER VALUES.

You can really believe it’s bigger inside than out. The MINI Cooper Coupé has all the right ingredients to make even a short trip an experience to relish.

First, the variable boot with 280 litres of space. Then the handy storage areas behind the seats. And also the through-loading facility to the boot.

There is plenty of space for all passengers, too. Specially designed elliptical elements integrated into the roof liner substantially increase the amount of headroom.

The mere sight of the driving area is enough to make you want to start up the engine. Because with its neatly arranged rocker switches and the large central speedometer that is so typical of MINI, it simply craves to hit the road. The build quality is both exceptional and exquisite. Typically MINI.

TURBOCHARGER.

FROM 0 TO 280 IN AN INSTANT.

Further back than the bonnet, too, the MINI Cooper Coupé produces some impressive figures. The large tailgate opens very high, to reveal a conveniently low loading sill. That makes it possible to load up the 280-litre boot in an instant.

With the through-loading facility behind the seats, loading up is an even quicker and more convenient affair. The passengers can simply reach behind from the passenger compartment and place smaller items of luggage in the boot.

Beneath the floor of the boot there is a compartment for safe storage of important objects. The optional 12-volt power socket in the boot can be used to charge laptops or connect up cool bags.

HARD CENTRE.

MOUTHWATERING EXTERIOR.

A sports car could hardly be more inviting. It will only take a few moments before your gaze is captured by the roof’s racing helmet design. With its subtle joins, it almost seems to hover above the MINI Cooper Coupé.

On the other hand the integral roof spoiler and the electrically extended rear spoiler are all about firmly hugging the ground. Both features provide the right grip on winding roads.

But the key to conquering the air stream is to be found up front. The very sloped A-pillar with flat windscreen improves aerodynamic performance and gives the driver even more scope for high-speed driving.
